Zero metrics (Earned value etc)

Hi, Hopefully this will be a "Doh" moment! I'm sure I've just missed a simple step somewhere. All the performance metrics for my project (earned value, CPI, SPI, CV etc) show up as zero. This is true both in the project summary view and for individual tasks. I've baselined the project and started making changes to reflect real progress. 'Budget at completion' also doesn't reflect the summation of the individual task totals in case this offers any clues. I've included a link below. If someone could take a link and point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-SwBBBTZWADR2wwbklRN2VqY2s/view?usp=sharing Regards Paul

Earned value calculates off the project status date.  If you go to the Project detail dialog box you can set the status date there and all your EV calculations will appear.

You need to have progress on tasks with % complete and a status date with a baseline... it works fine if you read up on Earned Value

Hi,

I had already baselined and set a status date for the Project (to the best of my knowledge). I’d also been setting individual task completion percentages.

To check, I created a three task project. I baselined it, upped the effort for a couple of the tasks, completed one task and input partial completion of another task. I then set a status date and I still get zero metrics.

The status date is after the baseline completion date for some of the tasks. I would have expected the BCWS to sum to the total of these tasks. The BCWS should be the total of the original cost of these expired tasks. The ACWP should total the work on these tasks.
I should also have both some schedule and cost variance due to the increased cost and slipped timings.
The EAC and BAC are both also zero.

I’m by no means an expert but do understand the basics of EV. If there's any specific material on how to get EV to work in Project Libre then I'm happy to read up on it. Please can I have a hint as to where to find it.

Thanks for getting back to me,

Paul
