Allocation of tasks without impacting resource usage.

Hi everyone.
How do I assign two tasks to one same resource without impacting on their workload? In a case where tasks can be done simultaneously.
Say, for example, that I have these two tasks: a train trip and writing a report. This is a case where the resource can travel and write a report while on the trip, which for me means that the resource usage should stay at 100% and not jump to 200% as I am now getting.

Allocate the resource 50% on each task
Hi there.... you can make each task "Fixed Duration" and then assign the resource at 50% to each task that is in parallel. You can find Task Type in the detail task dialog box and the Advanced tab. The default Task Type is Fixed Units so if you apply a resource at 50% utilization it would double the duration. That is the default. In this case you want the duration to stay the same so just change that and it will work...
