Constraint issue

Hello,

I'm a new ProjectLibre user and must say, first, that I love the software. Overall, I have been tremendously satisfied. I am using ProjectLibre to help a company manage the environmental permitting process for several dozen pieces of equipment located on multiple sites.

My question is related to constraints. I've dug around the discussion board (and the web) and have not found a specific answer to my issue. I have a task (Operations) with five subtasks (Compliance Testing). I am trying to set up the subtasks to each finish no later than a certain date. However, each time I change the constraint for the compliance tests to "Finish No Later Than" under the "Advanced" tab and update the date range under the "General" tab, the constraint type changes to "Start No Earlier Than". If I attempt to change the constraint back to "Finish No Later Than" (and enter a constraint date), the date range in the "General" tab reverts back to the Operations start date. FYI, the Operations task has a "Start no earlier" than restraint.

What I would like is for each of the compliance testing subtasks to have a "Finish No Later" than date.

This has been quite a maddening experience! I've reverted all of the constraints to "As soon as possible" for now, which seems to be working.

Thank you,

Boatramp

I am sorry for your issue but tested and it worked for me.  What version of ProjectLibre are you using ?  What Java and operating system are you using?

Thanks for the reply and I apologize for my delay. I'm running Java 7 Update 67 on Windows 8.1. I double checked it and there are no predecessors or any other links that I could find. The sub task does, however, revert to the start/finish date of the previously listed task. I also tried resetting the date since I've been away for a bit hoping for the best and, no luck. When I change the constraint to "Finish No Later Than", the date range changes. When I update the date range, the constraint type changes.

Is there a way to add constraint days to a resource?  Say for example you have someone who has a regular schedule but can't work on certain days.  Is there a way to set that up in your project schedule?  If not, just a suggestion that it would be great to have that.
