A problem with Tracking View - "% complete" column

Hello everyone,

as usual here is the .pod I'm referring to. I cannot understand why the "percent work complete" is always blank. Since the work is distributed evenly on the duration for each activity, the "percent work complete" should show the same values shown in the "percent work" column.

Thanks a lot for any assistance

Andrea

Hi,

You're right, that column works just fine. I made a mistake translating the column title from Italian,

The column I am referring to is the one called "Percentuale fisica completata" in the Italian version. I cannot figure out what it does. It appears next to the "% Complete" column (at its right) in the Tracking view.

Thanks again

Hello Andrea

We use the Physical% Complete column when the% Complete column does not reflect the actual work performed. It is most commonly used with EVA. For use this column you must configure the PL, enter the Earned Value Method column.

Reference:http://canalopenproj.blogspot.com/2014/06/earned-value-management-eva-ou-analise.html Hope this helps

It certainly did help! However though I followed the steps from the blog, I still can't input any number in the physical % column. Here's the .pod. Did I miss something?

Thanks a lot

I am trying to do some EVM calculations.  I however do not find the Physical % Complete option to insert into a Column.  I require this to be able to adjust the Physical % Completed to be able to change the EV (BCWP), as it is linked to Physical % Completed.

Your assistance will be appreciated.

Hello to all,

Physical Percentage Complete field will NOT let you insert values, it seem to be an inactive field no mater the EVM selection method is Physical % complete.

As shown in the image below, baselines, status date, % complete and %work complete, etc.. are set/ok.

Is it working, i.e. is it possible to insert values in Physical % complete field? If yes, how.

Thanks.example

Is it possibile that nobody has ever used the physical % complete (PPC) field track a project progress???

All users just adopt the (simple) % complete, no mater which is the task, i.e. writing a software or building a skyscraper... or use PL just to draw the Gantt chart?

There are no project managers or PMP's that use this software and have used the PPC field?

I fail to understand WHY PMP's haven't yet complained about this problem. I believe that being able to insert the physical progress, allows you to compare your actual progress to the planned... What will be done about this? This correction URGES to be made. Otherwise we'll be only checking TIME PASSED...
