New release of ProjectLibre

We wanted to send out a quick note in regards to the latest release 1.6.2.  It is also important to explain our current development efforts.   There are some improvements with ProjectLibre that we all see would be helpful.  Our team is completely rewriting ProjectLibre.  The new modular architecture is going to allow a much more robust engine.  It will also allow for modules and integration to be much easier.  We are looking to cloud enable ProjectLibre and add some very cool multi-user capabilities.   The current code is quite dated and has know issues as we wrote it many years ago.   However, the time we parse off to fix the old code detracts from our progress on the new version.  We only have the one team so we do ask for patience.

The latest release is now 1.6.2.  We recommend downloading as there have been some updates and fixes.  The key items to note on this release are some Linux fixes, Russian translation updates and some import/export updates.  We do have some Fortune 500 companies using ProjectLibre.  One in particular needed different custom field import.  These have been updated.  We are on a major push to get the new version into internal testing this Fall.  We will reach out to the community for beta testing assistance once we are ready after the internal testing.  It has taken awhile but worth it!!!!

Many congratulations for your really big work.

I know the product since Open Proj times, and we used it for long time. We are aware that there many bugs and parts to be completed and enhanced, but it is an important work any way.

If you need, I am at your disposal to test the programme for Italian work environment.

All the best,

I am trying to edit a Microsoft Project file that consists of a master project with subprojects and tasks within those subprojects. When I open it, all I can see are the master project and subprojects, no tasks. Do I have a setting wrong? How do I view the tasks.

Regards,

Mark

Boa tarde

Estou tentando instalar o ProjectLibre e este pede como pré-requisito o Java 6.     Vi que saiu em setembro/2015 uma nova versão do ProjectLibre, mas não foi atualizado para a nova versão do Java?

Como resolver o problema de instalação?

Grato.

Francisco.

I'm new to ProjectLibre.

One of the things I need to do is create Gantt Charts for distribution ot many people. I can do this now. However I would like to customize the page format by including A page title with the project name and  footer information with the current date.

Is that possible?

Gracias

Hi,

First, many thanks to all the projectlibre team for their work.

Could you give us some update on the next desktop release schedule ?

I am a PL user and I am longing for the next release which looks promising.

In addition, I am volunteer for beta-testing.

Best regards, Jean-Marc.
