Cannot install on Windows 7 64 bit

I cannot seem to get Project Libre to install in Windows 7 64 bit. I double-click the .msi file and the process starts for a second 'gathering information...' then exits silently.

My Java (7) is all up to date and things like Eclipse and PhpStorm run fine.

Any advice from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi Nick,

I am sorry to hear of your install issue.... will discuss internally here but the first question is if you are using the Beta 3 ?

Thanks,

Marc

I have win7 x64 and it worked for me. The "installer" is very quick and basic. Once it is done you can find it by either: [1] - Start>Search>"ProjectLibre" and it should find it very quickly (before you are done typing it in). Or [2] Start>All Programs>ProjectLibre>ProjectLibre.

Great to hear!  It is only a 10M download as well which sometimes has people perplexed as MIcrosoft Project and the Office Suite items run in the X00 M..... good luck and we look forward to your continued feedback. We do have a beta 4 coming out this weekend with all the fixes as well.

Hello Iam

You use which version of ProjectLibre? If you have a version less than 1.5.6 try uninstalling previous versions and install the latest version which is 1.5.6.

The address to download is this:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/projectlibre/files/ProjectLibre/1.5.6/

In the event viewer of your windows is displayed some information related to this problem? If so post here.

I hope this helped.

Using 1.5.7 msi I encounter the same issue of Java not detected by the installer. What method is the msi using to confirm presence of Java runtime on Win 7 64-bit? It seems it is not detected the presence of 32-bit Java.

Hey there... here is the link to ProjectLibre files for 1.5.7   It is actually a Java6 or Java7 issue... You can choose to install for Java6 here.  http://sourceforge.net/projects/projectlibre/files/ProjectLibre/1.5.7/   That should work

I am not sure what the issue is but you can download other versions  from Sourceforge at http://sourceforge.net/projects/projectlibre/files/ProjectLibre/1.5.7/   or http://sourceforge.net/projects/projectlibre/files/ProjectLibre/1.5.6/

We will check into this as well....
