7 day work week calendar

I am having difficulty in creating a project which runs 7 days per week. I edited the calendar to produce a custom calaendar with working hours set at the weekend, but when I enter the duration of the work in the sheet, if more than 5 days it splits the work over the weekend. I do not want this to happen, the work runs 7 days a week am I missing something?

Learned how to use custom calendars
I have subsequently learned how to create custom calendars which can be set to have a 7-day work week.
That appears to work well.
However, in doing so, I created lots of calendars and I've now been told that there is no way to deltete my custom calendars.
I guess I could un-install PL and then re-install.

Hi Frank,
That is a good catch... we have made a note for the new re-written version to allow for the deletion of calendars. We will need to make contingency for what to do if tasks/resources/projects are utilizing the deleted calendar.

Similar problem with 7 day
Similar problem with 7 day work week calendar. Can get a new calendar to be added - how do I change that new calender to be the one used for my project? It seems to always go back to the standard calendar.

7 day work week
How do we make the Project use a 7 day work week.
The project as a whole needs to use a 7 day work week by default.
At this point I am unable to get it to use anything other then "Default"
Unfortunatley, a ver frustrated and behind new user.
7 day project calendar
I just tested and it worked properly. I created a project with a 7 day task. I created a new base calendar called 7 day and made Saturday and Sunday as "Non default work time" by highlighting the day and selecting the radio button. You can assign that calendar to the Project and Task as the base calendar. My task scheduled today would have finished 1/3/14 with the standard calendar but with the 7 day calendar compressed 2 days and finishes 1/1/14.

Hi There,
It's working for me too now I read your instructions above. You have to double click the task, then click Advanced tab, then select the new Task Calendar for that task. I have added a 7 day calendar onto all my overseas shipping tasks and they are now showing the correct delivery dates. Nice feature to be able to assign different tasks to a different calendar.

Assigning 7 day calender
I am able to create a new 7 day calender. I can also assign this calender to my project. I also discovered to assign this calender to my ressources, at least to whom the 7 days apply. In my Gant chart the weekends did disappear as expected.
But the tasks are still drawn and calculated as if there still were weekends. So basically the whole calender thing had no effect at all on my planning. What am I doing wrong?

I just tested with 7 day calendar and worked fine
I just tested and assigned the 7 day calendar to my Project, Task and Resource. It schedules correctly. You also need to assign the non-standard 7 day calendar to your task as it would default to the standard calendar of 5 day weeks
