Either I'm missing something very basic or, the program shoves its interpretation of what a calendar's defaults should be down our collective throats.

My default day starts at 0600 and finishes at 1900. Granted, on certain days, these hours could change. From my perspective, it is the latter which must be highlighted as "non-default" since it is such relative to what I am doing.  As I understand it, if we must to consider anything different than the program's default day of 8 until 17, we must live with the fact that all of our calendar entries will be highlighted in red. Is this a correct assumption?  If not, how do we establish our own calendar  "defauilts"?
