Assigning resources for single crew operating in multiple tasks

Hey Everyone,
When I start scheduling a project I have a budgeted number of man hours for each task associated with the project. After inputting the budgeted hours as a duration I begin assigning resources to the tasks to balance the work with the calendar deadline. While we might assign 6-8 people to a project, the crew might be split between 3 tasks that are running consecutively and with overlap between crew members. I am finding assigning resources difficult when trying to balance the work. Does anyone have experience with this model? I have considered creating my resources by appropriate task crews rather than individuals. I am probably making this too complicated but I need accomplish this on some level and as simply as possible.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hello, I have a scenario like this, the way to work I found was working with fixed duration tasks, to change the task for this model just double click on the Advanced tab activity or fixed length type, enter the column type and sequence insert the feature in the activity. After performing this action go to the Resource tab, and Resource Usage view and set the number of hours for each project task. You can prioritize which task should be executed first assigning it a greater amount hours of course this will depend largely on how the project is managed. Hope this helps.
