creating templates & optional processes

Hi everyone,
I have a question about how to implement optional processes, that may occur during a project but need to be noted down in the project plan. So it is like an "xor" decision which causes further processes. can anyone please help me to find a solution for this? I have no clue how to implement that in project libre.
Furthermore I'd like to know how a poject template can be created. I guess it is rather easy, by copying a "template file" and giving it a new start-date, right? But is there any other solution for this?

Great questions
You pose an interesting question on basically decsion gates within the project. This ends up being more process management BPM related more than a critical path methodology algorithm. I have not seen any projects that do what you are asking but it certainly is an interesting idea.
Templates are 'save as' and change the start date as you mention. We are coming out with an enterprise version where it will make sense to have an actual Template file format stored on the server. That would allow the searching of project templates. This will not be in the first release but we'll get that done!
