how to detach resource allocation from task duration

Hi,
How can I define a task having some duration and assign a resource for a certain %. I tried to, but duration is diminished when I allocate less than 100%

Effort driven duration
Tasks are by default Effort driven on duration. If you go to the Task Detail dialong box you can deselect this radio button and the duration will not change with the reallocation of resources.
