Inactivation of Tasks

Dear All,
is it possible to "inactivate" a task so that it is still seen, but does not has any influence on the succeeding tasks? Because by just deleting the whole hierarchy is gone.

Task inactive
Yes, you could remove the dependencies between the task and predecessors and successors but then put Must Start On or Must Finish On constraints on the task
