New to ProjectLibre - Unscheduled tasks, Use Multiple Project Files?, Change Week Start Date, More grapical "Team Planner" view

Hi All,

I'm very new to ProjectLibre but looking for a better alternative for my team schedule than Excel which we have been using. I was going to use MS Project and started playing with that which looks good. However, using ProjectLibre looks like it could save us some money. I've been trying to learn some but help files and other online learning resources don't seem nearly as developed as Project (understandable since it's free I suppose). So, I apologize if these seem like simple questions that are already answered elsewhere.

1) I was just going to use one file to keep up with all of our projects and tasks so that we can see everyone's schedule in one file. Is this the best approach or should I use multiple project files (and if I do that, is there a way to see the full team's schedule at a top level)?

2) I have some things that I know need to be done but aren't scheduled. How can I make a task without a start date?

3) I'd like to change the week zoom level so that the dates are based on Monday instead of Sunday. Is this possible?

4) I find ProjectLibre's Resource Usage view equivalent to Project's Resource Usage view however... Is there something in Project Libre that is similar to Project's Team Planner view which is more graphical in nature? If not, is there a way to color code ProjectLibre's Resource Usage view so that I can clearly see when someone is scheduled vs not scheduled (e.g. green when 0 hours and red when > 0 hours)?

Any comments/support would be appreciated as I try to get up and running!

Thanks,

James

ProjectLibre now is more for single projects.  We are releasing an enterprise version in the Fall where you can have all your projects located.  On the scheduling.... you can't really have a task without a start date.  It is project management software :-)   It will default to today's date
