It's really great to see updates to OpenProj. I was thinking it was probably dead in the water.

I was also hoping to see a Recent Files menu/icon somewhere so I don't need to keep browsing around to open my projects. Any chance of adding that for the final release?

On a related topic, how do I set the association so that .pod files open with PL?

Regarding MS Project 2010 compatibility, I noticed you can only Save As a Project 2003 xml file. Will you be adding the 2010 file format?

The North, Central and South  American user community has been very strong with early downloads and involvement.  It is very much appreciated!  We have downloads now in every country except Suriname.  If you have any friends in Suriname, alert them of ProjectLibre!   We have also reached out to the Project Management Institute chapters.   We will be attending a number of PMI chapter meetings via the web.  Our goal is to continue growing the project management discipline.  Having a free, open source project management solution should be a major help in this regard.  

I cannot seem to get Project Libre to install in Windows 7 64 bit. I double-click the .msi file and the process starts for a second 'gathering information...' then exits silently.

My Java (7) is all up to date and things like Eclipse and PhpStorm run fine.

Any advice from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

I wanted to update the ProjectLibre community on the progress with the beta program.  The Community has been terrific in sending feedback and even project files with errors.  This has helped the team quickly identify issues and make fixes.  We will have a beta releasing this coming weekend with fixes to the problems identified. It is important to keep using the forums and send us your feedback. Our goal is to make ProjectLibre the world's leading project management solution.  You are very early members of the ProjectLibre community.

The community has been terrific in assisting us with the beta release of ProjectLibre. We did a complete re-write of most existing code.  This went well but the errors being identified by the community are very helpful.  We will have an updated beta this weekend which will correct the identified problems.  Once again, the communication and sample projects have been invaluable in solving the problems.

Just a quick note:  We did release the beta yesterday.  You can download at http://sourceforge.net/projects/projectlibre/    The initial download does not include an installer.  We are adding that over the weekend.  You can download and click on the Projectlibre.jar file and it will launch for you.
